I APPRECIATE WORKING FOR A COMPANY THAT HAS BEEN STABLE ON THE MARKET FOR MANY YEARS.
Every position at VERMONT is unique, and Ivona Pagáčová, who has been with the company for 14 years, knows this well. What was her start like, how would she describe her workday, and what does she value most about working with us? She shared all this in a pleasant interview.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO WORK FOR VERMONT?
I started working here in 2010. To be honest, when I went for the interview, I didn’t know the GANT brand. We didn't have any other brands back then. But I found out that the company deals with selling clothing.
WHAT POSITIONS HAVE YOU HELD WITHIN THE COMPANY?
I started as an Office Assistant and now work as an Office Manager.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WORKDAY?
My workdays vary. It depends on what we are working on at the moment. But a typical day involves reading emails in the morning and handling what can be resolved immediately. Then, I try to communicate—preferably in person—with my team to discuss our plans for the day or how to prepare for a larger event if one is coming up. After that, I usually walk around the building, checking the hallways, dining area, and garden, as I am also responsible for the premises at Vlčie Hrdlo. Then, I return to my PC and deal with various tasks, such as arranging accommodations, flights, airport transfers, meetings, events, refreshments, and managing the operation of the building, including office supplies, cleaning supplies, insurance claims, bank cards, and other matters.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR CURRENT POSITION?
What I like most is that my job is not the same every day. I handle both administrative tasks and the organization of various meetings and events.
WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST ABOUT YOUR COLLEAGUES/TEAM?
What I value most about my team is that they are reliable people. I like them more and more as time goes by. Overall, I appreciate that all of my colleagues strive to be genuinely friendly.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN YOUR WORK?
I am inspired when people are satisfied with what I do, appreciate it, and praise it. It motivates me to do even better.
WHAT MAKES WORKING AT VERMONT UNIQUE FOR YOU?
The way we operate at work overall—the people and colleagues. Additionally, we have a very pleasant working environment. For example, in the summer, we can enjoy excellent coffee on the terrace in a beautiful garden, which is certainly not standard in Bratislava. One just needs to notice and appreciate such things.
WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST ABOUT VERMONT?
I appreciate working for a company that has been stable on the market for many years. We have various corporate benefits, and I highly value the absolutely friendly approach of the entire company management.
HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO MAINTAIN A BALANCE BETWEEN WORK AND FREE TIME? WHAT HELPS YOU RELAX AND FIND BALANCE AGAIN AFTER A DEMANDING DAY AT WORK?
Fresh air, walking, whether in the forest or by a river or lake. I completely relax at a cottage in Lubina, a small village under Javorina.
