Every position at VERMONT is unique, and Lucia Hanicová knows this well. What was her career path, how would she describe her workday, and what does she value most about working with us? She shared all this in a pleasant interview.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO WORK FOR VERMONT?
I joined the company in February 2005. At that time, the company had about 30 employees and was nothing like today’s Vermont. However, what remains the same are the dreams, goals, and the incredible team of people who were and are incredibly coordinated, helpful, and hardworking, all sharing the same goal: to be number one on the market! Could anyone resist this? I couldn’t, and today I proudly stand alongside those who have brought what was then a small company to its current state and to the top of retail in Central Europe.
WHAT POSITIONS HAVE YOU HELD WITHIN THE COMPANY?
I started as a Store Assistant, gradually learning everything from the beginning. Later, I became a Deputy Store Manager and then moved to the position I hold today.
WHAT POSITION DO YOU CURRENTLY HOLD?
I work as a Store Manager, a role that I truly enjoy and that challenges me daily.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WORKDAY?
Every day is completely different; it’s impossible to speak of any monotony in my job. I never know what to expect, and that’s precisely why I still enjoy it. Every day, I encounter different people, different challenges, situations, and I learn something new every day.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR CURRENT POSITION?
The variety, the challenges, achieving goals, and having my team, not just from day to day, but through the persistent work of all of us. I am truly proud of us, and I can always rely on us, not just professionally, which is not a given nowadays.
WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST ABOUT YOUR COLLEAGUES/TEAM?
I value their loyalty, trustworthiness, and work, which is not always easy. And last but not least, their sense of humor, without which it wouldn’t work.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN YOUR WORK?
The people around me and successful, well-known individuals. Every satisfied and loyal customer who appreciates our work and its results.
WHAT MAKES WORKING AT VERMONT UNIQUE FOR YOU?
I have yet to meet someone who could or would speak about their employer as I can, with a clear conscience. The management at VERMONT consists of true professionals, and the whole company can instantly stand behind any employee. Whenever we need help, they are here for us, they are our support. Not only in good times but also in tougher moments, they are here and stand firmly with us. This is truly a unique stance today.
WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST ABOUT VERMONT?
The openness towards us employees and in communication with us, and everything I described in the previous question.
HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO MAINTAIN A BALANCE BETWEEN WORK AND FREE TIME? WHAT HELPS YOU RELAX AND FIND BALANCE AGAIN AFTER A DEMANDING DAY AT WORK?
In an ordinary day, even regular household chores are a form of relaxation for me. I like ironing, which is strange to many people. Balance is also found in my family. I enjoy walking to clear my head, exercising, and I love traveling, which is the perfect way for me to recharge.
