Peter Krajča
THANKS TO TRUST, FREEDOM, AND THE WONDERFUL SUPPORT OF THE TEAM, WE CAN IMPLEMENT ANY GOOD IDEA.
Every position at VERMONT is unique, and Peter Krajča knows this well. What was his career progression like, how would he describe his workday, and what does he value most at our company? He shared all this in a pleasant interview.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO WORK FOR VERMONT?
Information technology, which I've been actively involved in since I was nine years old - from managing computers, servers, and networks, through programming, user training, to consultations. At the time I was working as a developer of microwave, measurement, and control systems in a small, unique company, I received an offer for external cooperation, which later led to my permanent transition to Vermont and the IT sector.
WHAT POSITIONS HAVE YOU HELD WITHIN THE COMPANY?
I started as an IT Manager and then moved to my current position.
WHAT POSITION DO YOU CURRENTLY HOLD?
I currently hold the role of IT Director.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WORKDAY?
I usually start the day by checking various information sources, looking for critical errors or deviations from the set path towards our goals, and I react immediately if necessary. Then I check project events. The next part of the day is variable, where I primarily try to provide support and cooperation to colleagues in teams so they can work continuously. I observe what is happening in the company, understand colleagues' needs, and look for where we can help. I create time windows for work types such as analyses, planning, solution designs, writing assignments, and checking the work done. Throughout the day, there is personal, audiovisual, and written communication.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR CURRENT POSITION?
I love the opportunity to apply know-how from the fields of computing, electronics, logic, automation, and process control to simplify the work of anyone at Vermont. The reward is when I see that the effort made sense and helped colleagues or customers achieve something, simplify, or make something more pleasant.
WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST ABOUT YOUR COLLEAGUES/TEAM?
I most appreciate their passion for the common cause, determination, professionalism, perseverance, and mutual respect. My teams also delight me with their reliability, solidarity, and humanity.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN YOUR WORK?
I am inspired by colleagues who are trying to achieve something. I then try to help them on their way to that goal. I am also inspired by various insights or suggestions from around me and the world, leading to reflections on how to do things better.
WHAT MAKES WORKING AT VERMONT UNIQUE FOR YOU?
Thanks to trust, freedom, and wonderful team support, we can implement any good idea, make serious decisions, and tackle complex challenges together.
WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST AT VERMONT?
Vermont is a team of precious people; it gives opportunities, tolerates mistakes, appreciates successes, and values every person.
HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO MAINTAIN A BALANCE BETWEEN WORK AND FREE TIME? WHAT HELPS YOU RELAX AND FIND BALANCE AGAIN AFTER A DEMANDING DAY AT WORK?
Being free of work thoughts after work is probably the biggest challenge. Relaxation for me is family, time with my loved ones, friends, dog, or spending time alone. When I need to slow down my thoughts and be with myself, woodworking and spending time in nature always help.Top of Form
